By using this website or booking an advertising placement with Birchcast, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or book a placement.

3. Description of the service

Birchcast publishes a downtown Toronto news website, weekday newsletter and weekly podcast, and sells three advertising placements described on our Advertise with us page: newsletter sponsor lines, podcast host-read mentions and a cross-platform partner month.

4. Eligibility and user obligations

You must provide accurate information when submitting an enquiry or booking a placement, and any creative material you supply must be one you have the right to use.

5. Bookings, orders and payments

Placements are booked following a briefing call and confirmed once creative details and dates are agreed. Prices are listed in Canadian dollars on our Advertise with us page. 6. Intellectual property

The Birchcast name, logo, articles, podcast episodes and site design are the property of EGGS MEDIA INC. or its licensors. Advertiser-supplied logos and copy remain the property of the advertiser.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to submit unlawful, misleading or deceptive content through our forms or as advertising creative, and not to attempt to disrupt the site's normal operation.

8. Disclaimer

Site content is provided by EGGS MEDIA INC. for general informational and news purposes. It is not a substitute for professional advice specific to your business or circumstances, and Birchcast does not provide legal, financial or marketing advice through its articles, podcast or advertising placements.

We take reasonable care to keep the site accurate and available but make no warranty that it will be error-free or uninterrupted. Service descriptions, prices and formats may change; the scope of any booked placement is confirmed at the briefing call.

Advertising outcomes depend on many factors outside our control; we describe the format and reach of a placement honestly and make no guarantee of sales, enquiries or any other business result.

9. Payment & Refund Policy

This section covers payments made for advertising placements booked through Birchcast. Full detail is in our standalone Payment & refund policy page.

A placement may be cancelled for a full refund if the request is received before creative work has begun on it. Once a sponsor note has been drafted, a script outline prepared, or an edition or episode has already run, that portion of the booking is non-refundable.

Refund requests are made by email to [email protected] or by phone, and approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within five to ten business days.

10. Returns Policy

To cancel a booking, contact us by email or phone during our published working hours, Monday – Friday, 08:30–17:00. Returnss received before creative work begins are free; cancellations after a placement has started running are handled under the refund terms above.

Where possible we offer rescheduling to a different edition or episode date as an alternative to cancelling outright.

If Birchcast needs to cancel a booked placement — for example due to a scheduling conflict on our side — we will offer a full refund or a rebooking at no extra cost.

11. Third-party links

Our articles and advertising placements may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of sites we do not operate.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the Province of Ontario.
